You do not need to have an Orienteering USA membership to register for individual club events. You can choose the "Enter Data Manually" option below and register for our event. Online registration: closes at Midnight on Friday, Oct 18th. $15

Event Date: Saturday, Oct 19th. 6:30pm - 8:30pm, Race Start at 7pm

Bring your flashlight or headlamp (and a backup) and join us for orienteering in the dark at McAuliffe Park at part of the Baird Creek Greenway just off Hwy 43 in Green Bay. This year’s fall event will feature a Night Score O or Night Rogaine "Rugged Outdoor Group Activity Involving Navigation and Endurance" . What is Night O? Using a detailed, pre marked topographical map, navigate to a number of flags via map, compass and headlamp.

Similar to Adventure Racing, controls will be scored for difficulty with easy and more difficult control locations.

Format: Mass start. You will not need to punch start, just go when we say go. Navigate your way to as many of the 25-30 checkpoints as you like/can for 90 minutes.

Flags are worth the 10s column, eg 47 = 40 points, 62 = 60 points.

When you get back, touch the finish flag and the registration table will tell you your time.

All flags will either have reflective stripes or be supported by reflectivity - if you get within 10 m, you won't miss it - no circle hunting planned.

Approximately 5 checkpoints are White-ish, 5 Yellow-ish, 5 Orange-ish, 10 Red/Green/Brown-ish

Straight line / crow flying distance to clear is hovering in the 5-6 km range. We expect a handful to clear in its current form.

Recommended gear: Light (flashlight or headlamp) with a spare battery. Cell phone in case that fails. Compass. Long pants, long sleeves, buff for head temperature regulation.
