The sixth event of Nav-X 2026 season will be on a brand-new map of an area new to navigation sports, the Monte Rio Redwoods Regional Park and Willow Creek addition of Sonoma Coast State Park. The new map will be based on Lidar collected in 2013 but not have full orienteering details. The map scale will be 1:10000 with 5-meter contours. The start will be at the Monte Rio Redwoods trailhead parking lot on Main St., just south of the town of Monte Rio in the Russian River valley. The 3 and 6-hour courses will be GPS based using the app MapRun for timing on your own schedule. The competitive window for this event is October 1, 2026 - November 30, 2026. Results during this time period will be included in the official results and accrue Nav-X series points but the course will still be available on MapRun until Dec 15, 2026, after which it will move to the archived courses. Upon registration, you will receive (1) registration confirmation, (2) within 24 hours, a separate email with links to map documents. We also have some options for getting a pre-printed map.
