The 2026 Nav-X Challenge's 5th event brings us back to the 100 Lakes area of Tahoe National Forest. We will be using a map with a scale of 1:15,000 and 5m contours. The map was made from Lidar in 2018. Contours and vegetation are accurate but the map lacks orienteering level detail. The 4 and 8 hour courses will be GPS based, using the app "MapRun" for timing on your own schedule. For the first time, we are setting up the course as “Start Anywhere” with 2 parking areas to choose from. The first checkpoint that you visit becomes the start and finish for your course. The competitive window for this event is a 3-month window from July 1- September 30, 2026. Results during this time period will be included in the official results and accrue Nav-X Challenge series points but the course will still be available on MapRun until Dec 1, 2026. Upon registration, you will receive (1) registration confirmation, (2) within 24 hours, a separate email with links to map documents.
