Please share a link to this event with your friends and family - everyone is welcome! Please contact me directly to discuss special arrangements for scouts, school, J/ROTC, youth, corporate, wedding parties, and other groups.

This is a low-key, low-stress, self-guided opportunity to learn and practice basic orienteering skills. It is designed for beginning and intermediate orienteers, but participants of all levels are welcome. There will be no timing or scoring provided.

HQ area: Evans Park, W of the Park building.

First starts at 10am, last start at 1pm, and courses close at 2pm. I have a nice program set up for you, and you can do basically anything you want to do to develop your orienteering skills during this window within our permit, the law, and good manners. Feel free to repeat legs, skip legs, go in reverse control sequence, etc.

There will be two courses within this event. Controls will be shared between courses. Select which courses you want to do, and if you want printed instructions, during registration. Suggested sequence:

1) An Instructional/practice course combining legs where you'll stay on course by map reading only and legs where you'll use only compass and pace counting.
2) An Orange (intermediate) course on which you'll focus on the map and use compass and pace counting as and when you see fit.
Please ensure that a separate registration (waiver and payment) has been completed for every single person in your group, regardless of age, relationship, etc. Re-use/sharing of the map and/or walking any part of a course by unregistered persons is not permitted.

$15 Early Reg thru 13Apr at 20:00,
$20 Regular Reg thru 09May at 20:00,
$25 For all registrations initiated or completed after 09May at 20:00. (Cash only, exact change day-of)
UPDATED FEE SCHEDULE FOR 12 and under participants: Preregistered children 12 and younger accompanied by their fully registered parent/legal guardian are FREE during Early and Regular registration! Children 12 and younger registering after regular reg closes are $10. Children 12 and younger not accompanied by their fully registered parent/legal guardian are charged the adult rate.

**You must select the appropriate "package" for the fee to be calculated correctly. Please do not select "Continue Without Package."**

Select "Competing/Participating," for each "Race" (course map) you wish to go out on. This event is designed for fun, learning, and practice, so please don't be fazed by the use of the word "Race."

Puppies LOVE to take their people orienteering! Dogs are welcome at this event, but handling a map, a compass and a puppy can become challenging, I am told. Leash and pick-up rules apply. There are prickly pear cactus and goathead thorns on this property.

Rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, the event may be canceled at the Registrar's discretion (in which case 100% refunds will be issued).

100% refund if you notify me by email (conavgames at gmail dot com) that you will not be attending no later than 8pm the night before the event.

BYO water, snacks. Free loaner compasses will be available, just ask for one when you check-in.

I hope you'll be able to attend!
