2022 NAV-X Challenge #6 - Briones - 2 or 4 hour Map Trek
The 2022 Nav-X Challenge's season closer will be our first in-person event since March 2020! We will be returning to the area of the very first Nav-X event in April 2016, a wilderness area a mere 40 minutes from downtown San Francisco (70 min from Sacramento). Briones Regional Park is a vast wild area with oak studded hills, tucked in between Martinez and Lafayette, west of Walnut Creek. Using a quality orienteering map specifically designed for navigation sports, course setter Gavin Wyatt-Mair will be treating us to a Map Adventure sure to please any navigation sports enthusiast, whether you are looking for a scenic 2-hr hike or a 4-hr endurance race against some of the best in the West. We will go back to using e-punching for this event and will use the Alhambra staging area in the north end of the park.
